THREE NATURAL PARKS LESS THAN ONE HOUR FROM HOTEL TORREMILANOS
NATURAL PARK OF THE “HOCES DEL RÍO DURATÓN” (50 MINUTES FROM TORREMILANOS)
This natural park located in the province of Segovia, has an area of more than 25 km. full of great gorges that can reach 100 meters heigh.
One of its most emblematic places is the hermitage of San Frutós. On the way to this beautiful hermitage, 1 km. from the nearest place where you can leave the car, you will find several viewpoints from which you can see the gorges and the Burgomillodo reservoir. From the car park, where you leave the car to go to this hermitage, you can also get to the Monastery of Our Lady of the Angels of the Hoz, which, although it is in ruins, has a beautiful viewpoint at the top of it.
Also, in the Hoces del Río Duratón, there are some caves with engravings from the Bronze Age and the architectural ensembles of the nearby towns of Sepúlveda and Pedraza.
In this natural park, there is also the possibility of canoeing along the Duraton River, a very interesting and fun activity for those who like active tourism.

NATURAL PARK OF THE “HOCES DEL RÍO RIAZA” (20 MINUTES FROM TORREMILANOS)
Very close to our hotel, practically on the border between Burgos and Segovia, but belonging to the province of Segovia, is this natural park considered one of the largest sets of canyons and gorges of the Iberian Peninsula.
It is a really interesting area for bird lovers, as it houses species such as griffon vultures, golden eagles or Egyptian vultures, among other species.
The main axis of the park is the Riaza River, which houses a dense vegetation of holm oaks and junipers. And, following the course of the river, you will reach a calcareous canyon 150 meters deep and more than 200 meters wide where the hermitage of El Casuar is located.
Its most famous towns are Maderuelo (a declared historic-artistic town) and Montejo de la Vega de la Serrezuela.
One of its most famous routes is the El Casuar, a beautiful route that begins and ends the town of Valdevacas de Montejo.
NATURAL PARK OF THE RIVER CANYON LOBOS (55 MINUTES FROM TORREMILANOS)
The more than 10,000 hectares of this natural park are divided between the provinces of Burgos and Soria, belonging to the largest part to Soria.
This nature reserve is known for its beautiful hiking trails and also for the Templar hermitage of San Bartolomé. You can also see places like Cueva Grande, Colmenar de los Frailes or admire spectacular views from the viewpoint of the Galiana or from the Balconcillo, a natural hole in a rock that makes a viewpoint.
